HIGH ROCK RENTALS

Last updated: September 25, 2026

High Rock Rentals respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit highrockrentals.com, book or stay at one of our log cabin rentals in Black Mountain, North Carolina, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise interact with us. It also explains your choices regarding your information.

In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to High Rock Rentals. "Our cabins" refers to High Rock Haven, Timber Ridge, Mitchell View, Creekside, and Hideaway. "Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be linked to an individual or household, as defined by applicable law.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

We collect information you provide when you make or inquire about a reservation, sign a rental agreement, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, leave a review, or participate in a promotion. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, mailing and billing address, reservation dates, the number of adults, children, and infants in your party, information about pets you plan to bring, special requests, and the content of your communications with us.

If you provide information about other members of your travel party, you should have their permission to share it for the purpose of the reservation.

You may choose not to provide certain information, although this may limit our ability to confirm a reservation, respond to a request, or provide certain services.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect information about your browser, device, and use of the website. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, cookie identifiers, referring website, pages viewed, cabins and dates searched, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. We may also derive an approximate location from your IP address.

We may collect information about your interactions with our emails and advertisements, such as whether you opened a message or clicked a link.

Information from other sources

If you book one of our cabins through a third-party booking platform, such as Airbnb or Vrbo, we receive the reservation details that platform shares with us, such as your name, contact information, reservation dates, party size, and messages. That platform's own privacy policy governs the information it collects directly.

We may also receive information from marketing and analytics providers, social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest), and publicly available sources. We may combine this information with information we collect directly to maintain accurate records and support the purposes described in this policy.

Reservation and payment information

When you book directly with us, we collect the information needed to process your reservation, payment, and any security deposit, and to provide related support. This may include reservation details, billing information, payment information, and booking history. Our reservation platform, Lodgify, and its payment processing partners process payment information on our behalf. Their own privacy notices may also apply to information they collect directly.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our website, cabins, and guest services.
  • Process reservations, payments, security deposits, cancellations, and refunds.
  • Send booking confirmations, check-in instructions, and other information you need for your stay.
  • Respond to inquiries, provide guest support, and communicate with you before, during, and after your stay.
  • Remember your preferences and personalize your experience, including cabin recommendations and offers.
  • Send our newsletter, seasonal promotions, and other marketing communications, subject to applicable requirements and your preferences.
  • Understand website usage, develop audiences, and measure advertising and marketing performance.
  • Request and publish guest reviews.
  • Administer surveys and promotions.
  • Protect our cabins, guests, and property, and detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized activity, and other misuse.
  • Maintain business records, meet tax and legal obligations, enforce our rental agreement and policies, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We may also use information for purposes described at the time of collection or with your consent where required by law.

3. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate our website and booking tools, remember preferences, understand visitor activity, and support advertising. Cookies are small files stored on your device. Pixels and similar technologies can record actions such as viewing a page, starting a booking, or opening an email.

Some technologies support essential functions, such as security and the reservation checkout. Others help us analyze website performance, personalize your experience, and measure or deliver advertising. Our website uses Google Tag Manager to manage these technologies and may include tools from Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram).

Our website also contains embedded content from third parties, such as Matterport virtual cabin tours and an Instagram photo feed. These providers may collect information about your device and your interaction with their content.

We may work with analytics and advertising providers that collect information through these technologies. Advertising providers may use information about your activity over time and across websites or services to show ads relevant to your interests, such as ads for our cabins on social media. We may also provide contact information or other identifiers to support audience matching and campaign measurement. Encoded or hashed identifiers may still be associated with you and are not necessarily anonymous.

You can manage optional technologies through [Cookie Settings URL]. You can also adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain technologies may affect website functionality, including online booking. We obtain consent where required by applicable law.

Cookie controls do not necessarily delete information already collected. Additional privacy choices are described below.

4. Website Visitor Identification

We use the Untitled Identity Tag to help associate website activity, such as IP addresses, cookie identifiers, browser information, and pages visited, with an existing identity record. This may allow us to obtain contact information and related attributes even if you have not submitted a booking or inquiry form on our website. We may use this information for visitor analysis, marketing, advertising, audience development, and campaign measurement, subject to applicable consent requirements and your choices. We obtain the appropriate consent before activating the tag.

You can manage website preferences through [Cookie Settings URL] or contact us using the information below. For information about this provider's practices and requests concerning information it controls, see Untitled's Privacy Policy and Consumer Privacy Request form.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We share information with companies that help us run our business, including our reservation and website platform (Lodgify), payment processors, website hosting, housekeeping and maintenance providers who need reservation details to prepare your cabin, email and newsletter services, analytics providers, and advertising and communications platforms. These providers process information to perform services for us, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
  • Booking platforms. If you book through a third-party platform such as Airbnb or Vrbo, we exchange reservation details with that platform to manage your stay, payments, and reviews.
  • Advertising and marketing partners. We may disclose contact information, online identifiers, website activity, booking or conversion information, and audience information to advertising and marketing partners, such as Google and Meta, to support relevant advertising, audience matching, and measurement, subject to applicable requirements and your choices.
  • At your direction. We may disclose information when you request or authorize it.
  • Legal and protective purposes. We may disclose information to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, meet tax reporting obligations, obtain professional advice, enforce our rental agreement, prevent fraud, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, guests, cabins, or others.
  • Business transactions. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a proposed or completed sale of our business or cabins, merger, financing, or similar transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. However, some of the advertising, analytics, and visitor identification activities described in Sections 3, 4, and 5 may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under certain state privacy laws. These activities may involve identifiers, contact information, website activity, and booking or conversion information, disclosed to advertising, analytics, and data partners. You can opt out at [Opt-Out URL] or by contacting us using the information below.

6. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Marketing communications

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter and other marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us. We will still send reservation confirmations, check-in details, and other messages needed for your stay.

You may contact us to stop promotional postal mail. If we send you text messages, you can opt out by following the instructions in the messages.

Email unsubscribes, cookie preferences, and advertising opt-outs cover different activities. Contact us if you need help managing your preferences.

Reservation information

You may contact us to review or correct the information associated with your reservation, or to request deletion. We may retain information where necessary for tax and legal obligations, fraud prevention, damage or deposit disputes, or other permitted purposes.

Privacy requests

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and request access to it.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions.
  • Obtain a portable copy of personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain types of profiling.

You can submit a request by emailing us at mike@roseman.com or calling 954-258-4681. We may need to verify your identity or authority before fulfilling certain requests, where permitted or required by law. We do not require identity verification for opt-out requests where prohibited by law.

Where applicable, you may authorize an agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may request evidence of that authorization and additional verification where permitted. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and we will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

7. Information Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including hosting your stay, maintaining business records, meeting legal obligations, resolving disputes, and honoring your privacy preferences. We use these criteria:

  • Reservation, payment, and rental agreement records: kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and occupancy tax reporting, and legal requirements.
  • Guest communications and damage or deposit matters: kept until the stay and any related claim or dispute is resolved, plus a reasonable period afterward.
  • Newsletter and marketing information: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep a record of your opt-out so we can honor it.
  • Website, analytics, and advertising data: kept according to the retention settings of our analytics, advertising, and visitor identification providers.

[Insert specific retention periods here if you choose to state them.]

8. Information Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18. Reservations are made by adults, who may tell us the number of children or infants in their party. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action, including deletion where required by law.

10. Public Content and Third-Party Services

Reviews and other content you post on our website, our social media pages, or third-party booking sites may be visible to other people. Please consider what personal information you include.

Our website links to and embeds other websites and services, including Airbnb, Vrbo, Matterport, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, X (Twitter), and our High Rock blog. Those third parties have their own privacy practices, described in their privacy notices. This policy describes our own practices, including the information collection and disclosures we enable through our website.

11. International Processing

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States and countries in the European Union where our reservation platform provider operates. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where applicable law requires protections for international transfers, we implement the required safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy and revise the date above. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. Your continued use of the website after an update is posted means the updated policy applies to your use.
