The beautiful region known as Western North Carolina (WNC) is home to mountains, foothills and valleys, each offering a multitude of attractions and activities for people of every interest. To the north, “The High Country” features many ski resorts including Sugar Mountain and Ski Beech, which offer tubing, snowboarding and skiing for enthusiasts of every skill level. In the west you’ll also find the Cherokee Indian Reservation and all its associated attractions and museums. The whole of WNC becomes a display of incredible colors during the fall leaf season, with brilliant red, yellow and orange hues carpeting the landscape.
